Tech’s McVey Selected As Newcomer of the Year

 

Oregon Tech’s Cora McVey was selected as the Cascade Collegiate Conference’s Newcomer of the Year.  McVey, a 5-foot-9 forward from Dexter, Ore., averaged 13.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 41 percent from the floor.  McVey joined the Owls after two years as an All-NWAACC performer at Lane Community College (Ore.).

Corban’s Bale Named Coach of the Year

 

In his 5th year and final season at the helm of the Lady Warriors, Corban College’s Dave Bale has been named Cascade Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year by the conference’s head coaches. Earlier this season Bale announced that he would be stepping down at the end of the season.  However that season will be extended a couple of more weeks as his team will make an appearance at the NAIA Women’s Division II National Basketball Tournament, March 7-13, in Sioux City, Iowa.  This is Bale’s first Coach of the Year award.
